De Rhu Beach Resort

Highly recommend! We did not know what to expect because of the mixed reviews but we were so happy when we arrived. Attentive staff, yummy food and a beautiful location (we were able to step right onto the beach!). Our children loved the water play area! Special mention to all the restaurant staff especially at breakfast who would not allow a dirty plate to remain on our table and made sure to greet as we came in and when we finished and were leaving. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return soon. Thank you De Rhu Beach Resort!

I used to stay here, in the early days of my career, in the 90s - when I was working in the Pelabuhan Kuantan industrial area or attending meetings. Back then, it was 'Coral Beach Resort'. Overall, the hotel vibes is still the same, after all these years. Touted as having the largest swimming pool in the East Coast, plus it's close proximity to the beach - it's perfect for a family vacation. Definitely, I love the breakfast buffet which has many choices and delicious - I give it 5/5 stars.

Get a deluxe room with breakfast for 2 adult for only RM148. What a steal for a 3 star hotel. Upon entering the hotel, there was no bellboy, need to carry all you bag by yourself to room. The hotel have a lot of potential as the location situated at the beachfront, but the building a bit run down. Room was average but clean. Staff need to check the condition of the pillow. I found 1 of my pillow full of mould the next day when I want to tidy up the bed. I was horrified. You maybe already need to throw away the pillow. Coming on school holiday, as expected there’s a lot of people at the pool. Can see at the bottom of the pool full with grass. My kids refuse to play at the swimming pool as there are too many people inside. On the bright side, the breakfast buffet was great! A good variety for Malaysian. Nasi minyak was delicious.

Came here with my mum and my friend for a wedding nearby. Booked 2 separate dates as we decided to come a day earlier (last minute decision). The first booking was made since mid last year and the second date was made a week earlier. When we reached the hotel, they mentioned that they could only find my latest booking. Told them I already paid for both and the app showed a confirmed booking. Had to call Agoda customer service to get it resolved. Took hours to do so. The front lobby looked depressed and dated. Once we reached our room, that depressed look seemed to continue into it too. You can feel the springs on the bed, blankets are super thin, pillows too. No toiletries given (toothbrush, face towel, shower cap etc), the toilet cover is falling apart, the floor feels like it wasn’t swept in weeks with questionable items on it, I could go on with for weeks with the sad state of this place. I stayed at a budget hotel that is 3 times better than this place. Don’t get me started with their breakfast. I’d rather order from food delivery app. Never coming back.

Stayed for 3 days 2 night. Overall the resort is very clean and well maintained. The beach behind it is good also. The pool is good for the children. Quite relaxing staying here.
