4 weeks agoKitty and I recently ascended Menara Kuantan 188, the city's prominent observation tower, with the primary objective of experiencing the Sky Deck. While planning our visit, we consulted Google Maps for operational hours, however, we noted a minor discrepancy upon arrival. We secured tickets for the Sky Deck, priced at RM56 each for non Malaysian residents. We were particularly interested in the advertised "SkyWalk" experience, envisioning a secure perimeter walk with safety harnesses. Upon reaching the Sky Deck, we learned that the SkyWalk required a separate ticket and the donning of specialized equipment at ground level. While this was not clearly communicated during the initial ticket purchase, the staff were helpful in providing clarification. Unfortunately, high winds on the day of our visit made the SkyWalk impractical, given Kitty's attire. While we were disappointed to miss this element, we appreciated the staff's concern for safety and well being. In retrospect, given the weather conditions, foregoing the SkyWalk was the prudent decision. Despite this minor setback, the Sky Deck delivered exceptional panoramic views of Kuantan and the surrounding landscape. The vista encompassed the city, the coastline, and the meandering Kuantan River, offering a unique perspective on the region. In conclusion, Menara Kuantan 188 provides a valuable opportunity to appreciate the beauty of Kuantan from an elevated vantage point. While clarity regarding the SkyWalk ticketing process could be improved, the Sky Deck experience itself is highly recommended. Prospective visitors are advised to check weather conditions in advance and to confirm the details of all activities prior to purchasing the tickets.

4 weeks agoMenara Kuantan 188: Sky Deck Views That Wow - But Know Before You Go! Donkey and I recently checked out Menara Kuantan 188, that big observation tower in Kuantan, mostly to see the Sky Deck. We looked up the hours on Google Maps before heading over, but things weren't exactly as we expected when we got there. We bought tickets for the Sky Deck, which were RM56 each since we're not Malaysian residents. We were especially pumped for the "SkyWalk," thinking it was a safe walk around the edge with harnesses. But when we got to the top, we found out the SkyWalk was a separate thing, and you had to get special gear downstairs. They didn't really make that clear when we bought the tickets, but the staff explained it pretty well. The bummer was, it was super windy that day, and the SkyWalk wasn't really an option for me given what I am wearing. We were bummed to miss out, but appreciated that the staff was looking out for our safety. Thinking back, it was probably a good call to skip it with the weather. Even without the SkyWalk, the Sky Deck had killer panoramic views of Kuantan and the area. We could see the whole city, the coast, and the Kuantan River snaking through everything. It was a pretty cool way to see the region. Basically, Menara Kuantan 188 is worth a visit if you want to see Kuantan from above. Just make sure you know all the details about the SkyWalk before you buy your tickets, and check the weather first. The Sky Deck itself is still a great experience though! Google Rating: - Views: 5/5 - Incredible panoramic views of Kuantan. - Sky Deck Experience: 4/5 - Great views, worth the visit. - SkyWalk: N/A - Didn't experience due to weather, unclear ticketing. - Value: 3.5/5 - A bit pricey for non-residents. - Service: 4/5 - Helpful staff. - Overall: 4/5 - Recommended for the views! Just be aware of SkyWalk details and weather.

3 months agoI’ve been to Kuantan many times, but this was my first visit here. From the outside, the tower doesn’t look that tall, but once you reach the outdoor level, you realize it’s actually very high and the wind is incredibly strong! Besides a small art exhibition, they have telescopes set up at various vantage points for visitors to enjoy the panoramic views. The hotpot restaurant requires a reservation at least one day in advance—unfortunately, we missed out on that. Restrooms are available, though only one cubicle was functioning in the ladies' room. Also, only one elevator was operational, and it wasn't air-conditioned inside. The staff are friendly and professional. For tickets, credit card payments are accepted here. In addition to the views, there are several other activities available (please refer to the photos). Overall, it was a great experience. I hope the management continues to improve and maintain the facilities; a well-kept attraction is what keeps visitors coming back.

a month agoIt’s a sigh seeing the facilities not developed to their potential and amenities around the area are not maintained. Personally I felt there is lack of effort to develop this attraction, as a Malaysian I tried to support but I feel ashamed more than feeling proud if I bring my foreign friends here. The combo ticket to go up for viewing deck and outdoor view deck is RM33 for adult and RM20 for kid, for malaysian. If not local, price is higher. And also if not combo, the price also higher. The point is that will tourist feel worthy with this price and recommend it to others? I don’t feel worthy firstly because majority things I saw from the top bare either spoiled or under maintenance. The price I paid was merely for the use of lift and toilets (if I use it) and nothing else. They hired a lot workers, the ticketing counter itself has around 6 people not sure for what. On top at the outdoor view deck there wasn’t any staff. At the indoor view deck level they put a lot photos but minimum explanation, one can hardly understand what’s the link of those photos to this “landmark”. There is no cafe or food store or snacks. I would be happy if the price I paid include a small snack or coffee, at least creating a reason for tourist to spend a few minutes more in the building. The binocular, good courtesy but seriously does it really bring any point? No eagle no otter not even fishing boat. So the binocular just for looking into apartment windows?? The restaurant, why restrict it to only dinner? Why can’t just make it can cafe before dinner time? At the outdoor viewing deck the wind is quite strong so takecare of your belonging.

2 months agoI was there on the 25th of December 2025. It was windy with light shower in the late afternoon. The crew on duty + Mr Azlan at the Skywalk platform was very attentive too. We got a chance to take great pictures at the 3rd Floor (outdoor) observation deck and a nice pictures at the skywalk starting platform.
