Royale Chullan Villas Cherating

Absolutely unacceptable experience. I stayed here for two nights. On checkout day, I developed seven itchy bites across my thighs, arms, and back — very clearly bed bug bites. My companion who stayed in the same room also had similar bites. This was not a coincidence. When I contacted the hotel and sent photos, the response was disappointing. Instead of concern or accountability, the tone from staff was questioning and dismissive. We were asked to provide a medical certificate, as if the default reaction was to doubt guests rather than investigate a serious hygiene issue. They said someone in charge would follow up — no one ever did. For a so-called five-star property, this is shocking. Bed hygiene is the most basic standard. How can guests feel safe sleeping here? I called room service to sanitise the jacuzzi, two staff came just use water to rinse it. I mean. Excuse me? To make things worse, I ordered an iced Americano and it came full of sugar. Breakfast juices were clearly diluted. The quality simply does not match the pricing or branding. The only decent part of the stay was that frontline staff were polite. But politeness does not compensate for hygiene failures and poor handling of complaints. If you value cleanliness and accountability, think twice before booking. BTW there are numbers of reviews also mentioned the bed bugs issue throughout these years. Guess the hotel has never taken it seriously to solve the problem.

We have stayed at this chalet many times — probably our 5th or 6th visit within the past two years. It is one of the cleanest and freshest-looking chaket in Cherating, and the rate was very reasonable. The surroundings are clean and peaceful, and the room is comfortable. Although the room may look slightly dated, it is still well-maintained and perfectly fine. Breakfast was good even though the variety was limited. However, the cereal quality could be improved, as it tasted quite cheap — even my son cant finish the cereal because the taste was terrible. We hope this can be improved in the future. Check-in and check-out processes were smooth and hassle-free. The restaurant staff during breakfast were very friendly and attentive. The beach is absolutely amazing — we could easily spend the whole day there from morning until evening. We will definitely come back again someday, and hopefully there will be a special gift or recognition for regular guests.

Me and wifey love to come over to Cherating. And almost every time we would stay here. We like it here as it feels comfy and homely. The staffs are nice and courteous. The beach here is like our own private beach, thankfully it’s clean. As is the property too. There are shops and cafes you can walk to nearby. One thing I would hope is that the management look into refurbishing as some parts, areas and items in the room looks dated. All in all, a nice resort to stay in.

We enjoyed several aspects of our stay. The room was spacious and had a beautiful beach view. The staff were friendly, helpful, and provided good service throughout our visit. However, there are a few areas that need improvement. The coffee quality was poor, both in the room and at the breakfast buffet. At breakfast, the fruit selection,unfortunately, we noticed sandflies on the fruit, which was unpleasant. The walkway to the rooms could be better maintained—shrubs are overgrown between plants, and the area feels dark with noticeable insects. Inside the room, the step-up divider is slippery and potentially dangerous, especially for children. Overall, the hotel has great potential, but addressing these issues would significantly improve the guest experience.

I can say this hotel is a heaven for the surfers. But we’re here for a family day. The hotel very accommodative to make sure thw rooms assigned at a lower level since almost of my group are mostly senior citizen. Only few rooms at second level. We booked for 12 rooms all together. The breakfast is simple and foods are ok. Teh tarik is the star . The staff also very accommodative as we want to capture our moments here and they helps us to take a few group photos. Really appreciate that and we had a great time there and try out surfing there too.
